ACS NSW needed a customised platform to simplify their processes through digitalisation and for easier membership management.
Michelle Blicavs, CEO noted, “Most software is designed for individual membership management, so we needed something where we could add companies, and then individuals within that membership base.”
The CPD requirements for their members in Surveying are also very specific, so ACS NSW needed a solution that would work for tracking CPD but could be adapted to meet their unique needs.
What were the original reasons you were looking for an Association Management System (AMS)?
We were looking for a new AMS for a number of reasons including digitalising analogue processes, ease of integrating with other systems (specifically our communications), improved tracking and reporting abilities and ease of use for members and staff.
How has the Membes system been able to address some of the challenges you faced?
One of the biggest challenges we faced was that we’re an industry association with all of our members being organisations not individuals and most of the software we looked at was only for individuals. Membes were able to provide a ready-made system that could be adapted to work for both companies and individuals to ensure our management of membership records was effective.
We also had challenges with our CPD program as our old system was quite manual and cumbersome which led to issues during audit time. Membes was flexible and configurable enough to support our complex needs with CPD tracking.
The team are always looking for ways to improve their offering by adding new features that can support associations.
What are some of the change, growth or operational objectives that Membes has now helped you acheive?
Since implementing Membes we have seen a 44% increase in membership. We have been able to achieve this level of membership growth due to the Membes system simplifying our processes and increasing automation, e.g. turning our paper-based join form to a digital form.
The self-member-management via the website login for members makes things much easier for them as they are able to easily locate what they need and take any actions they want.
The digital streamlining also makes it easier for our staff by removing heavily manual processes that use up precious time and resources. It also is super easy to onboard new staff with everyone doing some training and also referring to the helpful user guides.
No one system can really do everything, but Membes gets us 95% there and easily integrates with other systems.
