The Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) have been using the Membes Association Management System (AMS) since March 2021. Find out from Kate Rickwood, Coordinator, Insights and Communications; why they chose Membes and how they are using it to benefit their Association to reach their goals.
What were the original reasons you were looking for an Association Management System (AMS)?
We had previously been using Salesforce which was a really challenging system as it is not tailor-made for associations. We separated from our parent company and therefore needed to find an alternate AMS. We wanted something that would better integrate the systems that we were using.
How has the Membes system helped you solve the problems you identified?
There have been many improvements to the way we work since implementing Membes. As soon as the system was live, we were seeing results. Some of the key benefits include:
- Members are now able to login to our website to view and update their details
- Only members can receive special rates to events
- Our financial system (Xero) is totally integrated making managing invoices and payments very simple
- We are able to get more granular reporting on our members, cutting the data many ways to suit our needs
- We have member-only pages on our website.
What are some of the objectives that the Membes system has helped you achieve?
We changed our renewal cycle to annual instead of anniversary which has created many efficiencies and it was very easy to do this with Membes. We have seen great member retention in our latest renewal cycle (currently 86%).
The fact that members now have a login to our website where they can manage their own profiles has also been beneficial, saving administration time for the team. This means we can house a lot of member benefits on our website for members to access themselves.
